Literature and Learning

I am going broke purchasing children's literature!  Honestly, I could simply check out the books from the library.  I get around this fact with the thinking that I will use them in my classroom as a teacher so why not buy them?  (I suppose I should at least wait to find out what grade I end up teaching, I doubt that a fifth grader will want to read Goodnight Moon!)  I had forgotten how much I enjoy these books.  I am an avid reader as an adult but I was not usually found in the children's section.  Now I am always there.

Goodnight Moon. I have read that aloud to my children so often that I'm sure I could repeat it word for word. Same for Pat the Bunny, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and about 30 others...

I know exactly how you feel, except for me. I wish I had the money to buy all the books I wanted for my classroom. I am going to suggested the USED BOOK section at Gulliver's, they have a section of picture books as well as the novels and books for the older kids. And you can get some of them really cheap but still in great condition.
